Principal's Address

Opening Ceremony

Good morning students, teachers and staff,

Welcome back to a new school year! Today marks a special occasion, especially for our Secondary 4 students, who are embarking on your senior secondary journey at our school. With over 400 students, we are a close-knit community, and I’m excited to see how each of you will contribute to our unique environment.

As you begin this new chapter, it is natural to feel a bit overwhelmed. You may not yet be familiar with your surroundings, but remember, this is a wonderful opportunity for growth and discovery. Just like a pencil: it starts as a simple wooden rod, facing uncertainty when sharpened for the first time. It may seem small, much like how you might feel today, but each of us has the potential to create something extraordinary. No matter how ordinary we may perceive ourselves, we can all leave our mark on the world.

As the pencil faces challenges—like breaking or wearing down—it becomes stronger with each sharpening. Likewise, you will encounter setbacks. How you respond to these challenges will define your experience. Embrace them as opportunities to grow.

With guidance, a pencil can create beautiful art. Each of you has the power to shape your own unique story through your studies and actions. Remember, mistakes don’t define a pencil; it can erase and start fresh, just as you can learn and improve from your experiences.  A pencil is not defined by its mistakes. Artists erase and start anew, and so can you. It’s through resilience that you will transform challenges into stepping stones towards success.
As the pencil nears the end of its life, it may become short, but its potential remains. Similarly, as you journey through Secondary 4, 5, and 6, remember that your impact is measured not just by your achievements, but by the connections you make and the legacy you leave.
To our S5 students, this year is a crucial step towards your goals. Embrace the challenges ahead and support one another as you grow and learn together.

To our S6 students, I encourage you to treasure every moment of this final year. Work hard and stay focused as you prepare for the HKDSE. Your efforts now will pave the way for your future, whether that leads to university or your desired career path.
I also want to take a moment to thank our dedicated teachers and staff. Your support and commitment make a significant difference in our students' lives. Together, let’s  a positive environment where everyone can thrive.
Today, I urge you to embrace the extraordinary in the ordinary, just like the life of a pencil. You have the power to create, overcome challenges, and leave your mark on our school and beyond. No matter how small you may feel, your contributions matter. Live with purpose and passion, and make this year truly remarkable.

Thank you very much.

Principal Yau

National Day

Today, we gather to celebrate the 75th National Day—a moment of pride and reflection. On this special occasion, I want to share three significant themes with you: the remarkable advancement of Chinese technology, our motherland’s commitment to Green Development, and the mission that lies ahead for our generation.

In recent decades, China's technological innovation has flourished impressively. Our aerospace industry has achieved remarkable milestones, from the "Chang'e" lunar exploration to the "Tianwen" Mars mission. Chinese astronauts and scientists continually expand boundaries, realizing one ambitious dream after another. Additionally, we have made tremendous progresses in fields like artificial intelligence, 5G communication, and quantum computing. These achievements not only showcase our technological prowess but also reflect China’s potential and determination on the global stage.

However, with rapid economic growth comes the challenge of environmental pollution and resource depletion. To achieve sustainable development, the Chinese government actively promotes a green economy and has implemented a series of environmental protection policies. We have made significant progress in the use of renewable energy, and becoming the world’s largest producer of solar and wind energy. Protecting our natural environment is not just an obligation; it is also a responsibility to future generations. We must recognize that safeguarding the environment is a shared duty, and only through green development can we achieve harmony between our economy and ecology.

I urge every student here to broaden your horizons. Utilize the knowledge and skills you have gained to contribute to the prosperity of our motherland and Hong Kong. In this era of the Internet and globalization, let your vision extend beyond the learning and life at hand to the global stage. Every new idea and innovation holds the potential to change the world. Be bold in your explorations, embrace proactive learning, and transform your knowledge into a catalyst for social progress.

Dear students, you are shouldering the important responsibilities of the era. I hope that in the days ahead, you will pursue your dreams with courage, dedicate yourselves to your studies, and contribute to the prosperity of our country and society. Together, let us strive to embrace a brighter future!

Lastly, I wish our motherland continued prosperity and vibrancy and hope that every one of you realizes your dreams!
