Dreams Fly High
Welcome back to another new school year! Today, I want to share a beloved pastime that many of us have enjoyed: paper airplanes. They not only carry sweet childhood memories but also serve as a profound metaphor for our unique and remarkable life journeys.
Consider the countless ways to fold a paper airplane. From simple designs to complex styles, each exhibits a unique flight pattern. Some planes fly straight and steady, soaring on the wind and traveling great distances, while others turn gracefully, leaving beautiful trails in the sky. Aren’t we just like these planes? Our diverse backgrounds, interests, and personalities come together to create a unique picture of life.
Even with the same paper and folding method, each airplane's flight path remains different. Some shoot straight up with determination, much like those pursuing their dreams with unwavering focus. Others take winding paths, gaining strength through their twists and turns to find their way. Life reflects this journey; we don’t need to copy the paths of others. Those roundabout routes and unexpected turns enable us to see a broader horizon and discover different versions of ourselves.
Likewise, our school has evolved over the past 35 years like a paper airplane, continuously being folded and adjusted. From its humble beginnings to the rich and diverse achievements we celebrate today, every effort and breakthrough has added strength to our journey. In the face of challenges, the school has navigated through storms with unwavering faith and adaptability, soaring towards a brighter and greater future.
As you prepare to take flight as young individuals, remember this: your worth is not measured by how fast or far you fly, but by how you adapt to the winds and maintain your own rhythm. Life will not always be smooth; you will face headwinds, storms, and moments of low tide. Yet, it is these challenges that build your courage and resilience.
